The life of Carmen E. Guarnieri is a true masterpiece. Father, friend, businessman, gentleman. One with a graced heart. As a young man, Carmen found inspiration in painting. A self-taught artist, he began painting with oils in the early 1950’s, continuing thru into the early 1970’s. In 2001, Carmen decided to explore more of his Italian heritage, traveling to Italy where he photographed many of the beautiful scenes and cities. This experience inspired him to pick up his brush again, after a hiatus of more than 30 years. Throughout his artistic career he saw entries in local shows across the Mohawk Valley, including the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute summer sidewalk presentation, where a number of his paintings were awarded honors.

Sadly, he passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the age of 89. This website is a collection of his life's work. Beautiful scenes, and portraits captured on canvas.

In honor of his memory, his family has created a scholarship fund. All proceeds will go to the Carmen Guarnieri Children’s Scholarship Fund, in care of Munson-Williams-Proctor Art Institute in his native town of Utica, Ny.
